Classes

I've had some wonderful opportunities to teach some art classes to both youth and adults and here are a few pictures of some of them.

Paper Mache Animal Heads:

This was an 8 week class with junior high and high school students. They made some amazing animals!

The students started by finding photos of the animal they wanted to create and then built a base out of newspaper, recycled plastic bottles and soda cans and masking tape.

The next step was to cover the forms in many layers of paper mache. We learned it is important to add some salt to the flour and water paste so it doesn't mildew!

Fine details were added on the last layer.

The horns were made over a wire base wrapped with masking tape.

The heads all got a base coat of paint before details like eyes or stripes were added.

This was a 3 week adult basic drawing class. We did a different special project each week.

This was the week we were focusing on color and we did tropical leaves and flowers in repeating patterns.

A lot of beautiful pictures!

An 8 week Junior High and High School class produced some fantastic watercolors!
